November 2008 - The Flying Sharks team delivers 32 Meagre (Argyrosomus regius) to I.R.T.A., in Tarragona / Spain. Both I.R.T.A. and Piscimar are working on the reproduction of this species. November 2008 - This time the team used Piscimar's truck, with typical transport of aquaculture fish configuration. This truck carries 12 tanks and inbuilt filtration and oxygenation, proving to be extremely effective.
November 2008 - Water quality checks are done routinely, despite the fact that travelling was done by night and the temperature in central Spain was 2° C! November 2008 - Maria Joćo, a young M.Sc. student from the University of the Algarve also accompanied the trip, as she is using data from such transports for her work on phisiological stress responses.
November 2008 - Blood was drawn from all animals to check for multiple hormonal levels and gender. Results from blood works were also used by Maria Joćo on her M.Sc. thesis. November 2008 - All animals are weighed and measured on arrival.
